Here, the team at Baptist Health explains why the area’s largest healthcare provider has and continues to support the Foundation as well as JOY magazine, recently signing on as the publication’s Community Champion Sponsor.

What are Baptist Health’s primary services and offerings in the River Region?
Baptist Health is home to a nationally certified Stroke Center; a Women’s Choice Award Winner for obstetrics delivering more than 4,000 babies each year; Blue Distinction + Center for Hips and Knees; one of America’s best hospital imaging services; and the area’s only inpatient Geriatric Behavioral Health unit.

How many employees does Baptist have?
More than 5,000. Baptist Health is proud to be the largest employer and healthcare provider in Central Alabama.

Are there any areas or services you’d like to highlight or tout?
Baptist Health has three acute care hospitals with 792 licensed beds, one behavioral health hospital with 60 licensed beds and a geriatric behavioral health unit with 22 beds. It also has a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center, regional cancer center, 10 employed physician practices, 95 providers, the Branch Campus of UAB School of Medicine, two physician residency programs and an Institute for Patient Safety and Medical Simulation.
