Pumpkin patches, football games, crisp air, colorful leaves! Throw in some spectacular seasonal events throughout the state, and you’ve got the best autumn ever.

Joy to Life Walk of Life for Breast Cancer
Montgomery, Oct 21
Join the Joy to Life Foundation for our annual Walk of Life 5K & Riverfront Celebration in downtown Montgomery. Bring the family and enjoy a day of serious fun as we come together in a big way to fight breast cancer in Alabama. Participants will be treated to entertainment along the route along with Trick or Pink for the kids to collect goodies. The fun continues at the Riverfront Celebration with food trucks, a foam pit party, a bubble house, video gaming, 360 photo booth, interactive inflatables, glitter tattoos, music and more. It's the breast 5K ever!

The National Shrimp Festival
Gulf Shores, Oct 12-15
Celebrating its 50th year, The Annual National Shrimp Festival is back again on the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores. This FREE shrimpy shindig is one of the nation’s tastiest outdoor festivals, attracting more than 250,000 people each year with 300 fine art and arts & crafts vendors, a Children's Activity area, two stages with continuous live musical entertainment, and of course, all kinds of delicious shrimp dishes, as well as other eats.

Kentuck Festival of the Arts
Northport, Oct 14 & 15
See the works of more than 250 folk, visionary and contemporary artists and expert craftspeople, enjoy a free, hands-on art-making area for children and get in on the action with live demonstrations by basket-makers, blacksmiths, woodworkers, traditional potters, fiber and fabric artists, quilters, jeweler and a glassblower. There’s also music, storytelling, food and fellowship on tap.

Mentone Fall Festival
Mentone, Oct 21
Enjoy arts and crafts, food, live music and more amid the magical scenery of the northeast Alabama mountains in autumn. This event will be held on the historic campus of Moon Lake Elementary School, now known as Moon Lake Village, which houses shops, art galleries and more. The 1928 schoolhouse is in need of repairs, and all proceeds from the festival will go to preserve it.

Alabama Pecan Festival
Nov 3-5, Tillman's Corner
This family-oriented festival features a carnival atmosphere with rides, food, face painting and arts & crafts and, of course, pecans. Live music and an antiques car exhibit round out the fun.

Pinhoti 100
Heflin, Nov 4-5
Part of the Pinhoti Trail Series, the Pinhoti 100 is a challenging 100-mile point-to-point trail running race in northeast Alabama, full of creek crossings, rocky ridges and magnificent views. While traveling different terrain throughout the race, one of the spectacular accomplishments is reaching the highest point in Alabama.

Wetumpka Wildlife Arts Fest
Wetumpka, Nov 11
This one-day event highlights wildlife art while celebrating the great outdoors and sporting pursuits that inspire it. In addition to artist booths, enjoy educational presentations, art classes, vendors, food, children’s activities and expert demonstrations, including a cooking demo by Alex Hoefer, Wind Creek’s Executive Chef.

Magic City Half Marathon & 5k
Birmingham, Nov 19
This popular run takes racers through the heart of Birmingham and benefits benefit The Ruben Studdard Foundation for the Advancement of Children in the Music Arts. This year is its 13th anniversary.
